Grant started his career as a chartered surveyor in London in the late 1990s. Before launching Barnes & Barnes, he worked with CBRE, Bradford & Bingley bank, Countrywide and Allsop, the national property auctions consultancy. Besides his surveying qualifications, and a degree in economics, Grant also has a postgraduate diploma in historic building conservation.
Simon moved into the property sector following a number of years as an officer in the British Army. On leaving the army he qualified as a surveyor and has been assessing and valuing residential and commercial properties in London since 2010.
Mike has more than 40 years’ experience in the structural design of buildings, and the inspection, investigation and reporting of structural defects. He has completed thousands of building surveys and is a specialist in structural defects to domestic properties in particular. Mike is also party wall surveyor (Member of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors) and has given evidence as an expert witness in court. Mike has also developed a UK-wide network for chartered engineers and surveyors and organised a number of conferences to support and raise standards in the sector.
In working as a chartered town planner over 30 years Graeme has accumulated a detailed knowledge of all areas of planning law, planning policy, planning enforcement and development control. In a senior role with the London Borough of Croydon dealt with the most complex planning applications and acted as a professional witness at hearings, public inquiries court cases. In 2005 he left the public sector to set up as an independent planning consultant.
